More Beautiful You

Do you think you're fat?
Because trust me, you're not. Promise. You can tell me you're fat if you weigh seventy billion pounds. And I know for a fact that's NOT possible, so shut it.
You can go into SO many different shops in the mall and never find a thing that flatters your body. You can be a size small in every article of clothing you wear, and in one particular store, you'll have to wear a medium. Or a large.

This is where the eating disorders develop.

You're not fat! The Man (not God or Jesus, but the other The Man) is trying to get your money! He (or she) wants you to think you're fat. Once you've convinced yourself of this, you have to buy weight loss supplements, a gym membership, plastic surgery... etc.

Then you're broke.
Look at me. In the eye.
Hmmm. It'd be creepy if I DID know you and you suddenly lifted your eyes from your internet-capable device to look at me and say, "I promise I will never call myself fat or ugly because someone out there, God, and Lisa think I'm beautiful just the way I am."

But... I DO still want you to say that. To yourself, to someone else, to the mirror. Say it.

~I promise to never say anything mean about my body. I will never call myself fat or ugly (or anything else self-deprecating) because Lisa thinks I am beautiful just the way I am, and I should too. God has made me a wonderful person on the inside and out, and someone out there can't wait to meet me.~

But don't do it because I say. Do it because you believe it. Then, make a personal affirmation of your own.

But don't get me wrong. It doesn't mean you can't make changes to your body, like weight loss, if you still have trouble believing. It IS healthier... (But what do I know?) But don't get all extremist on me.

I've finally found a store that doesn't make me feel like a self-conscious slob. (Well, I found it a few years ago, but I finally shopped in it the other day.)

I went to Torrid on Saturday, and I fell in love with it all over again. I'm a size 2. A 2! I've never seen a two by itself alone on clothes I bought before!

Find yourself a store that makes you feel good. Shop there occasionally. ;) Because trust me, there could never be a more beautiful you.

Feel better.
That is all.
