Duets

Obviously, I'm not very good at this whole 'writing every day' thing. I'll work on it, but I have some essays to write. Sorry for letting you down! :(

Hmm. What to write ab---DUETS.

I have no idea WHERE in the world I got this idea. Or how to write about it. Hmmm. Wait a second.

Sing Along Tom, Part 5

Here is a list of my favorite duets:

Endless Love (Diana Ross & Lionel Richie);
A Whole New World (Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey);
Baby, It's Cold Outside (Chris Colfer & Darren Criss);
Need You Now (Lady Antebellum);
You're The One That I Want (Olivia Newton John & John Travolta);
Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Kiki Dee & Elton John);
It Takes Two (Kim Weston & Marvin Gaye);
(I've Had) The Time of My Life (Jennifer Warnes & Bill Medley);
The Prayer (Celine Dion & Andrea Bocelli)

---just to name a few.

There's just something about singing duets: the acting and partnership involved, the idea that two people are, for however long the song lasts, connected by a strong, unbreakable bond. (Like marriage, but without the commitment, arguments, or in-laws.) Cheesy, I know, but eight-ninths of these listed duets are romantic duets. Sorry.

Anyway. If I haven't scared you away with the prospect of bonding, you should come sing with me.

(Ugh. That was a HORRIBLY cheesy ending. But the good cheese. Not the kind that comes with Christmas sausage.)

Peace,
Lisa

P.S. (12-28-11): I left off one of the most important duets ever - the classic farewell song of the 2003 Broadway musical, Wicked - For Good (Idina Menzel & Kristin Chenoweth)
